I always felt bad for being a bad writer, I make lot of spelling, grammar, punctuation and basic sentence framing mistakes which are the major skills required for writing
But what if people like me have the passion of writing and who really wants to write? It is very embracing sometimes when people make fun of your writings and you always get bad mark in exam because your bad writing
even now I don't know how many of you will understand of what I am writing now, but please bare with me and hope you understand at-least something
okay! what is my problem?
I do not know, I was not aware, I thought I must be an average student, may be I did not learn my spellings, grammar rules and punctuation. I never got it right. after growing up it was very challenging to cope up because it was affecting my professional life very much, right from writing email to writing proposals i have to depend on somebody to make corrections. and to get into jobs with this writing skills is still an night mare
Maybe that made me to create my own job opportunity, hahaha something good out of bad, I love doing graphic designing but all my work at-least would have one spelling mistake in spite of being very careful
YEHA! I am dyslexic
(https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/dyslexia/symptoms-causes/syc-20353552)It happened to
do a course on Special Need Education where I came to know that i could be dyslexic. can be! I could relate all the signs and characteristics and then Later I have to accept the fact
Many people laugh when I tell them I want to writer.
Does writing come easy to me? No!
Thanks to technology, Google, Cut, copy and paste.
Does it take me 10 times longer than a non-dyslexic person to writing something coherently? Yes!
Does it sometimes feel like torture trying to get the words out of my head? You bet!
But I believe this actually makes me a better writer.
The truth is: I write because of my dyslexia, not despite it.
Why do I write?
because I want to, it make me happy
Happy to write with mistake and then no one can understand it
how to COPE UP WITH IT
Get started: Write a few lines, then a few paragraphs. Don’t
worry about grammar and spelling. Once
you’ve got a first draft, reread and revise. Get a trusted friend to
proofread it. Read and revise again. And again. use technology, there are apps to auto correct it (i did not use any because I want people to know here the mistake that I usually make)
Congratulations! You are now a tortured artist. Welcome to the club. and stay tuned for more articles
